Wacky Packages Returns!!!

If you were born in the 70's you probably remember Wacky Packages. These fun cards for many were their first exposure to parody. Often goofy, sometimes even vulgar, these little cards made by Topps, were a huge hit among kids when they were available.

Here's a sampling of them...

Well, it seems that Topps has brought back the irreverent favorites for a new generation.

Tons of FREE MUSIC... Legally!

Sure, we all remember napster, back when you could download any music for free; and sure there are still sites out there where you can still do this. However, we all know you run some risks when doing this, and of course, you're stealing.

There is still LEGAL, FREE music available on the internet, though. Better yet, it's LIVE music!

That's right, you can get your hands on plenty of live concert recordings of your favorite artists!

From the website: "Welcome to the Live Music Archive. etree.org is a community committed to providing the highest quality live concerts in a lossless, downloadable format. The Internet Archive has teamed up with etree.org to preserve and archive as many live concerts as possible for current and future generations to enjoy"

So much great music, so little time. You'll waste days, weeks, on this site downloading live shows until your hard drive explodes!

Light years beyond elves... Anarchy Online

Yes, I admit it. For a brief time, I was a WoW player. Sure it's fun, sure it's deliciously addictive, sure it's a great way to waste time... but here's the catch. IT IS NOT FREE.

That's right, friends. Some of you have already done the math. If it is not free, that means you need money to play. If you need money to play, you're not wasting time, you're working to waste time...

Let's throw the whole work thing right out the window!

Anarchy Online is a FREE MMORPG that takes place in the distant future. Select from several races of genetically engineered beings or be a human, and explore the world of Rubi-Ka and battle mutants, monsters, and various wildlife in a battle for survival on this world thrust into a bitter civil war.

There are seemingly endless missions, adventures, and of course a rich cast of characters to meet and interact with. Although there are "expansion packs" available for a nominal fee, the free version is rich with enough content to keep you occupied for months, if not years. Click the ad below to give it a try, it's a free download!

Oh, it's monkey madness time again. AMC has decided to air a "Planet of the Apes" Marathon!

I remember fondly as a child every thanksgiving WOR in NYC would air a thanksgiving marathon of "Monkey Movies" starting with King Kong and all the sequels and spinoffs like "Mighty Joe Young" and wrapping up with the Planet of the Apes movies.

From Charlton Heston's "Damn you all to Hell" to the destruction of the earth, they're all here! Get your APE on at AMC!

The Swear Jar

This has been making it's way around the net... never saw it on TV though... funny ad for Budweiser... guess if you have a really crappy beer, you have to have REALLY good commercials.

Kid wastes time and achieves internet fame!

Ah, yes. Not only is it our goal here to waste time, but to highlight those that excel in the art of slack. Here, a 9 year old child has wasted so much time that... well you just have to see it for yourself.

For my hooping friends...

Yea, I've got a lot of friends that enjoy Hula-Hooping. No longer the forgotten craze of the 50's, hula hooping has made a real comeback. You can't go to a summer music festival without running into some beautiful woman hooping to the music.

Well, I guess it's not just attractive women hooping anymore, in fact it seems that hooping has even crossed lines into the most unlikely of sub-cultures...

Learning a second language...

Sure, I'll probably never take the time to look into this... but it's interesting, and you may find some use out of it. Personally, I think immersion is the best way to learn a language. Living in an area with a large Spanish speaking population, I am picking up basic conversational understanding rather quickly. However, if online study is your bag, this video shows you some sites to help you along on your quest to become less linguistically challenged.

Mario Tetris???

Ok, I'll admit, I love games. from little Pong clones to MMORPG'S I enjoy games. When I'm slacking off wasting time, there's a good chance I'm playing a game.

Here's one I found just a few moments ago.

The question is which will happen first: You lose the game, or you go crazy from the looping music???

Solar Table???

Ok, this is pretty cool. Hangin' outside on a nice spring day surfing the web, listening to music, and uh-oh... battery warning. Not anymore! New from... well someone... hell this could just be a concept.... but either way, I thought it looked cool, so here it is... the solar table!
